Healthy growth of inhabitants refers to a steady and sustainable increase in population driven by natural births, in-migration, and improved living conditions. Unlike explosive or unplanned growth, healthy growth reflects a balance between demographic expansion and the availability of resources such as housing, jobs, education, and healthcare. In the Ashanti Region, the Mampong Municipal District records a steady 2.2% annual population growth rate. 

This pace of increase highlights a community where residents find both economic activity and access to essential services. The growth is seen as sustainable, allowing the district to expand while maintaining balance in infrastructure and quality of life.

In the Central Region, the Awutu Senya East Municipal District, with Kasoa as its capital, stands out as one of the fastest-growing areas. From a population of just 863 in 1970, Kasoa rose dramatically to 69,384 by 2010. While its growth is rapid, it also reflects the town’s attraction as a peri-urban hub, drawing inhabitants from across Ghana due to its proximity to Accra, availability of land, and growing commercial opportunities.

In the Greater Accra Region, the Kpone-Katamanso area has become one of the most rapidly expanding communities. Its urban expansion rate of about 15% between 2008 and 2017 was largely influenced by spillover development from Tema and Ashaiman, alongside new residential and industrial projects. This growth represents a shift in population as people move closer to emerging economic and infrastructural developments.

These districts—Mampong, Kasoa, and Kpone-Katamanso—demonstrate how healthy or rapid growth of inhabitants shapes communities in Ghana.
