4th Uganda Buildcon Expo ends with calls for Innovation and Sustainable Housing

The 4th Uganda Buildcon International Expo 2025 has ended at the Lugogo Showgrounds in Kampala, bringing together stakeholders from the construction and real estate sector across Uganda and abroad. 

Running under the theme “Building for the Future: Innovation, Sustainability and Technology,” the three-day event seeks to promote eco-friendly, affordable, and technology-driven housing solutions to help close Uganda’s housing deficit, currently estimated at 2.4 million units.

Officiating at the opening, the Minister of State for Housing, Princess Persis Namuganza, represented by Permanent Secretary Dorcas Okalany, commended the organizers, Exhibition Trade Services India and FUTUREX, for sustaining the expo since 2022 and providing a platform to showcase innovations, products, and sustainable solutions for the built environment.

She reaffirmed the government's commitment to supporting the sector through favorable policies, infrastructure investments, and incentives that encourage both local and international participation. 

She further urged exhibitors to establish manufacturing bases in Uganda to strengthen local production, reduce costs, and create jobs.

The expo, which featured a wide range of exhibitions on modern building materials, equipment, and technologies aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and sustainability in housing and infrastructure development.
