Dennis, a veteran minerals trader with over 30 years of experience in diamonds and five years in gold, has shed light on his journey in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where he continues to play a pivotal role in the trade of precious resources.
Reflecting on his work in Kipushi, a mining town situated behind the farm of former President Joseph Kabila, he spoke of his collaboration with Benoit Kayeye Muvudi, a lecturer at the University of Lubumbashi, whom he fondly describes as “a brother from another mother and father.” Together, the two have built a partnership in the minerals business that blends trust with practical expertise.
Throughout his career, he has been instrumental in determining pricing for diamonds, a responsibility he takes pride in. “Whenever it comes to pricing, it is myself who gives the figures, especially in diamonds,” he explained, underscoring his reputation as a trusted voice in a sector where precision and credibility are essential.
While diamonds have long been his foundation, he has also expanded into gold, gaining five years of experience in the sector. He stresses that honesty has guided his work in both fields, building lasting relationships and credibility among peers and clients.
His story not only highlights personal dedication but also reflects the central role of the Democratic Republic of Congo as one of the world’s most resource-rich nations, where diamonds and gold continue to shape economic opportunities and global trade.
