The initiative attracts thousands of visitors each year, including Ghana’s historical diaspora, returning home to connect with their roots.The campaign is aligned with the Black Star Experience, Ghana’s leading tourism strategy that positions the country as a top destination for culture, creativity, and global engagement.Speaking at the launch, Mrs Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of the GTA, described December in GH as more than just a festive celebration. “It is a movement showcasing Ghana’s vibrant spirit to the world,” she said. “As we embrace the Black Star Experience, we are preparing for our biggest December yet and look forward to innovative events that will elevate Ghana as a leading destination for culture, entertainment, and heritage tourism.”Event organisers, promoters, and cultural curators are invited to submit detailed proposals for inclusion in the official event calendar.As preparations intensify for December in GH 2025, stakeholders across Ghana’s cultural and creative sectors are being urged to take advantage of the platform to contribute to the country’s growing international reputation.Ms Annabelle McKenzie, Director of the International Affairs Secretariat and Coordinator of the programme, called the open call for event proposals a pivotal moment in Ghana’s tourism and cultural agenda.“We are excited to work with organisers bringing fresh ideas and energy to December in GH. It is a time when the global diaspora comes home to experience Ghana’s culture, warmth, entertainment, food, and welcoming spirit,” she said.She added that this year’s edition promises even greater impact as Ghana invites the world to take part in the Black Star Experience—a national movement aimed at showcasing Ghana’s unique heritage and creative power on a global scale.The December in GH campaign continues to play a critical role in boosting tourism, strengthening local cultural industries, and cementing Ghana’s status as the gateway to Africa.Celebrated Ghanaian highlife legend Abrantie Amakye Dede is set to mark his remarkable 50-year journey in music with a grand concert at the Dominion Centre in London on June 14, 2025.The anniversary event will bring together his fans in the United Kingdom for a night of nostalgia, unity, and dancing to the timeless tunes that have defined his career. It aims to pay tribute not only to Amakye Dede but also to the legacy of highlife music and the pioneers who have shaped Ghana’s musical landscape over the decades.Organised by the artist and his management team, the concert is expected to draw thousands of highlife enthusiasts from London and beyond.
