The National Petroleum Authority cautions the public against keeping cylinders indoors

The National Petroleum Authority is cautioning the public against keeping cylinders indoors,
saying it is extremely dangerous to do that.

According to the NPA, the naked eye cannot see gas in case of leakage, hence the need to keep
cylinders outside to avert a fire outbreak.

A member of the NPA Governing Board and Chairman of the Consumer Services sub-
committee, Kwami Sefa Kayi, who made the call at an LPG awareness and sensitisation lecture
at the Takoradi Technical University, noted that some people did not want to keep their cylinders
outside because of the fear that they would be stolen.

Mr. Sefa Kayi gave the assurance that the NPA would do everything to ensure the price of LPG
remains competitive and “soft on consumers.”

The lecture organized by the Corporate Affairs and Gas Directorates of the Authority was on the
theme: “Safe Use of LPG Protects Lives and Property.”

to plant more trees.

The Ghana Electrical Contractors Association (GECA) has called upon all citizens, especially
real estate developers and house owners to plant more trees.

residence helps in the reduction of energy consumption thereby reducing the cost of electricity
bills.

He explained to an Accra Based Radio station that the trees enhance the air around, and create a
more conducive room temperature which reduces the usage of fans, air conditioners, and
refrigerators.

According to him, the type of buildings where the use of aluminum and sliding glass windows
reduces the amount of air that circulates the rooms, it is important to have trees in and around the
rooms to reduce the heat.
