Kenya Airways Expands Routes with New Direct Flights to Maputo and Dubai
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has officially opened the call for event proposals for the 2025 edition of December in GH, a flagship campaign that transforms the country into a vibrant cultural and entertainment destination each festive season.
Running from December 1, 2025, to January 3, 2026, December in GH offers a carefully curated lineup of events in music, fashion, art, nightlife, and heritage tourism. The initiative attracts thousands of visitors each year, including Ghana’s historical diaspora, returning home to connect with their roots.
The campaign is aligned with the Black Star Experience, Ghana’s leading tourism strategy that positions the country as a top destination for culture, creativity, and global engagement.Speaking at the launch, Mrs Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of the GTA, described December in GH as more than just a festive celebration. “It is a movement showcasing Ghana’s vibrant spirit to the world,” she said. “As we embrace the Black Star Experience, we are preparing for our biggest December yet and look forward to innovative events that will elevate Ghana as a leading destination for culture, entertainment, and heritage tourism.”
Event organisers, promoters, and cultural curators are invited to submit detailed proposals for inclusion in the official event calendar.
As preparations intensify for December in GH 2025, stakeholders across Ghana’s cultural and creative sectors are being urged to take advantage of the platform to contribute to the country’s growing international reputation.
Ms Annabelle McKenzie, Director of the International Affairs Secretariat and Coordinator of the programme, called the open call for event proposals a pivotal moment in Ghana’s tourism and cultural agenda.
“We are excited to work with organisers bringing fresh ideas and energy to December in GH. It is a time when the global diaspora comes home to experience Ghana’s culture, warmth, entertainment, food, and welcoming spirit,” she said.
She added that this year’s edition promises even greater impact as Ghana invites the world to take part in the Black Star Experience—a national movement aimed at showcasing Ghana’s unique heritage and creative power on a global scale.
The December in GH campaign continues to play a critical role in boosting tourism, strengthening local cultural industries, and cementing Ghana’s status as the gateway to Africa.
