A major ecotourism project in Tegbi Ashiata, Anloga District, is underway to enhance the local economy and transform agriculture.
Led by the West Wave Hospitality Group, the initiative includes constructing a six-kilometre access road linking Ashiata to Abiwukope in Woe, improving transport for farmers and boosting market access.

At the groundbreaking ceremony, board member Saviour Elorm Amegee emphasised the project’s dual benefits—promoting tourism and supporting local agriculture by sourcing fresh produce from nearby farms. Togbi Gawu V, Dufia of Tegbi, endorsed the initiative, praising its potential to tackle long-standing developmental challenges.

Nana Araba Sekum, winner of the Queen of Ghana Beauty Pageant and a student at the University of Education, Winneba, will represent Ghana at the Queen of the World Pageant in New York, USA, from May 6 to 10, 2025.
Competing alongside contestants from over 50 countries, Araba sees this opportunity as a platform to inspire and empower young girls.

Upon her return, she plans to launch a national campaign promoting girls’ education and leadership.
The pageant’s founder, Mrs. Araba Biesema Crentsil, called on stakeholders to support Ghana’s bid for the global crown.
