Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra marked the Christmas season with an extraordinary display of artistry and festivity, unveiling a magnificent Christmas tree adorned with over 220,000 handmade beaded ornaments.

The annual tree lighting ceremony, attended by dignitaries including the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, showcased a five-meter-tall tree that stands as a beacon of holiday joy and a celebration of Ghana’s cultural heritage. The tree’s intricate decorations, designed by local artisans, include stars, snowflakes, hearts, and colorful mini handbags. Valued at over a quarter of a million Ghanaian Cedis, these ornaments illuminate the hotel’s lobby with unmatched brilliance.

General Manager Hanno Barkhoff emphasized the symbolic nature of this year’s tree, which embodies the spirit of the festive season while championing local creativity. “This collaboration reflects our dedication to community engagement and cultural appreciation,” Barkhoff said.

The project was brought to life through a partnership with renowned Ghanaian designer Adubea Jensen. Janet Addoye, CEO of Adubea Jensen Design, expressed her pride in contributing to the stunning centerpiece. “It’s an honor to see Ghanaian craftsmanship celebrated on such a prestigious platform,” she remarked.

Kempinski’s tree serves as more than a holiday decoration—it is a tribute to the artistry and resilience of Ghana’s artisans. The initiative highlights the hotel’s role in fostering cultural pride and creating unforgettable experiences.
