Ghana Cocoa Board Highlights Significance of National Chocolate Week
Global Hospitality Sector Poised for Growth in 2024
Let’s dive into the stories
In the aftermath of the pandemic, Ghana’s struggling hospitality sector is finding support in the integration of DStv for Business.
Offering tailored entertainment solutions, premium in–room experiences, and sports packages, DStv presents a strategic avenue for hotels to enhance guest satisfaction and ensure sustained growth.
Collaboration opportunities, promotional packages, and the use of digital signage further contribute to positioning DStv as a catalyst for innovation in Ghana’s post-COVID hotel landscape.
The Deputy Public Affairs Manager of Ghana Cocoa Board, Mr. Benjamin T. Larweh, emphasizes the significance of the annual National Chocolate Week celebration, stating that it fosters patriotism and solidarity among Ghanaians.
Beyond being a culinary event, Chocolate Week represents a symbol of national pride and unity, celebrating Ghana’s role as a major player in the global cocoa market.
The celebration, initially National Chocolate Day in 2005, has evolved into a week-long event, allowing processors and chocolatiers to showcase their products.
Mr. Larweh acknowledges challenges, including limited processing facilities and outdated technology, emphasizing the need for investments in modern infrastructure and technology. Despite progress, the perception that locally-made chocolate is inferior poses a hurdle.
Looking ahead to the 2024 Chocolate Week, Larweh anticipates a vibrant celebration with various activities, including talk shows, brand activations, competitions, and exhibitions, showcasing the best of Ghanaian cocoa and chocolate products.
The Marathon Foundation, Ghana (MFG), has opened registration for the fifth edition of the Kwahu Mountain Marathon scheduled for March 30th, 2024.
The theme, “Stronger Together Running into the Future,” aims to promote a healthy lifestyle and boost enthusiasm for Kwahu Easter festivities. Collaborating with the Kwahu Traditional Council, MFG aims to elevate the marathon from a festive activity to a platform for national athletes to enter the international arena.
The initiative seeks to celebrate cultural festivities while providing a preparatory ground for athletes aspiring to compete internationally.
On the International Front
In 2024, the global hospitality industry is poised for significant growth, driven by regional developments and key trends.
Experts say the industry will witness transformative trends, including the widespread adoption of cloud technology for operational efficiency, increased integration of artificial intelligence for guest engagement, and eco-friendly practices.
These trends converge to define a dynamic and innovative landscape, ensuring substantial growth and elevated guest experiences in the hospitality sector in 2024.
