To our first story
Ghanaian and Athletic Bilbao forward, Inaki Williams, has officially opened the San Mames Hotel in Akyem Achaise, Ghana’s Eastern Region.
The construction of the multi-million dollar hotel began last year in his hometown.
Despite currently being in camp with the Black Stars for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, a commissioning ceremony for the hotel took place over the weekend, attended by Williams’ family, traditional and religious leaders.
Named after Athletic Bilbao’s home ground, the San Mames Hotel features world-class facilities, including a rooftop bar with stunning views, a gym, and well-designed standard rooms.
Away from that
Mr. George Azure, the dynamic CEO of Songbird Entertainment has emerged as a staunch advocate for preserving Ghanaian culture and heritage through music, film, and art.
Noteworthy is his support for the Prampram Homowo festival, where traditional music genres like Highlife and Hiplife take centre stage.
Through such initiatives, Mr. Azure has not only provided a platform for local artists but has also celebrated and showcased Ghana’s unique cultural identity to the world.
His contributions to the industry, from supporting local talent to fostering collaboration and preserving cultural heritage, have not only elevated Ghana’s entertainment landscape but have also positioned it as a force to be reckoned with on the global stage.
Ghana is experiencing a Guinness World Record craze with recent successful feats including Afua Asantewaa’s sing-a-thon and Chef Faila’s cook-a-thon.
Now, Isaac Amoako, a graduate from the University of Education (Winneba), is preparing for a reading-aloud marathon.
Amoako, driven by his passion for literature and inspired by social media trends, aims to read continuously for 145 to 150 hours.
This endeavour is seen as a unique way to champion and revive interest in reading, especially among the youth overly focused on digital platforms.
The trio of record-breaking attempts highlights diverse talents in the Ghanaian community, making the nation a hub for Guinness World Record pursuits.
