Mr. Wisdom Mawuli Parku, CEO of Majora Group, based in Obuasi, has been recognized among Ghana’s top 100 influential individuals, celebrating his outstanding contributions to the country’s travel and hospitality sectors.
The award acknowledges Wisdom’s visionary leadership and resilience, highlighting his role in transforming Ghana’s travel landscape.
Despite facing challenges, including a fraudulent incident and a fire at the Obuasi office in 2018, Wisdom’s tenacity has propelled Majora Group to curate travel experiences for over 5,000 clients in just six years.
The accolade adds to his list of honors, including Forbes Africa 30 Under 30 and Forty Under 40 Awards. Currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Tourism Management, Wisdom continues to amplify his expertise, solidifying his position as a key influencer in Ghana’s travel and hospitality industry.
The Africa Visa Openness Index 2023 reveals significant progress in visa openness policies across the continent, marking the highest score ever and surpassing pre-COVID-19 levels.
In 2023, 50 countries improved or maintained their scores, with only 4 showing a decline. Since 2016, 36 countries have enhanced their index scores.
Notably, 42 countries offer visa-free entry to citizens from at least 5 other African nations, while 33 extend this to citizens from at least 10 countries. Rwanda, Benin, The Gambia, and Seychelles have eliminated all visa requirements for African travelers.
Overall, there’s a positive trend in intra-Africa travel, with 28% not requiring visas, up from 27% in 2022 and 20% in 2016.
This development is seen as facilitating family visits, education, business, and tourism, contributing to the vision of a prosperous, integrated continent with fewer restrictive visa regimes.
