The 2nd Annual Green Building Conference is under the theme: ‘Mobilising support for the
Roll-out of the STI4SHS Roadmap and advancing an African green Building and development
agenda has been held in Accra.
Director of the Green Building Conference Prof. Emmanuel Bamfo Agyei said so far only 23
buildings in Ghana are green certified.
He, therefore, called for a policy drive to include eco-friendly materials in all new public
structures.
The three-day programme brought together academicians and politicians from several African
countries including South Africa and Germany.

Churches, prospective homeowners urged to engage professional architects
Mr Kofi Essel-Appiah, Chief Executive Officer of Predios Ghana, has urged churches and
prospective homeowners to engage the services of professional architects from the idea stage of
their building projects to reduce risks and improve project design.
Mr Essel-Appiah was speaking at this year’s Kingdom Equipment Network conference in Accra
which was held in collaboration with the Ghana Institute of Architects, Ghana Institution of
Engineering, and the Ghana Institution of Surveyors.
The conference dubbed ‘Ekklesia Round Table Series 2023’ was on the topic ‘Efficient
Development and Management of Church Property in Ghana’. understanding of architectural,
engineering and design consideration for efficient and sustainable construction.
It was also to equip participants with effective church property development strategies to
maximize ministry impact.

Dubai’s real estate sector has seen an unprecedented surge in the first half of this year with a
total of 60,440 sales transactions being recorded, says Unique Properties, one of Dubai’s leading
real estate agencies.
The value of real estate sales recorded in the first six months of the year exceeds the annual sales
value recorded each year in Dubai from 2009 to 2021, while also showing a 46.71% jump for
the residential property market and 30% for the commercial sector when compared to the same
period last year, it said.
Furthermore, the most expensive apartment sale ever was recorded in the Bulgari Residences
project on Jumeirah Bay Island.
Dubai also witnessed a strong surge for its residential market. According to ‘Savills World Cities
Prime Residential Index,’ the emirate ranks as the best city in the world when it comes to the
price growth for luxury homes .
While prices globally experienced the slowest annual growth since December 2020, Asia-Pacific
cities experienced the strongest luxury price growth in the first half of the year.
Dubai led the way with an 11.2% increase in luxury home prices, further solidifying its position
as one of the top destinations in the world for expatriates to visit and live in, surpassing London,
New York and Paris as the world’s leading luxury property market .
