On June 5, 2025, the Minister of Works, Housing and Water Resources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, urged TDC Ghana Ltd to leverage its leadership in housing delivery to support the government’s affordable housing agenda. He made the call during the launch of TDC’s 24-hour call centre and Prestige and Premium services initiative, aimed at improving customer support and service delivery.
Mr. Adjei praised TDC’s consistent performance in housing delivery and expressed confidence that the new services would enhance collaboration among stakeholders, boost operational efficiency, create jobs, and increase investor confidence. He noted that the initiative aligns with the government’s “resetting agenda” for a modern, responsive public service.
TDC’s Acting Managing Director, Courage Nunekpeku, described the initiative as a move beyond traditional working hours to drive economic activity and ensure services and opportunities are accessible 24/7.
Spain is taking significant steps to address its housing shortage. Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has proposed tripling the country’s social housing budget to €7 billion over the next four years. This plan includes €4 billion in national funding and seeks €2.7 billion from regional governments, many led by the opposition People’s Party.
The initiative aims to increase Spain’s social housing stock from 3% to closer to the European average of 8%.Additionally, the government is considering new taxes to discourage tourist rentals and foreign property purchases, alongside creating a national database to monitor housing metrics and land availability.
