Celebrated Ghanaian filmmaker Shirley Frimpong-Manso is set to make her theatre directorial debut with the stage play Honeymoon Hotel, produced by Africa Arts Network. Adapted from a script by Stephen Yaw Oppong, the play will run at the National Theatre in Accra from June 20 to 22, 2025.
Honeymoon Hotel is a romantic drama set in a luxury hotel where love, secrets, and chaos intertwine. The play explores themes of love, deceit, and second chances, brought to life by a star-studded cast including Joselyn Dumas, James Gardiner, Ama K. Abebrese, David Dontoh, and others.
Shirley described her transition from film to theatre as thrilling, noting the rawness and immediacy of the stage. Africa Arts Network aims to elevate Ghanaian theatre with this bold, contemporary production.
Ghanaian dancehall artiste and creative, Epixode, delivered a spectacular performance at this year’s Shindig Music Festival held at Charlton Park in Wiltshire, United Kingdom.He shared the stage with fellow Ghanaian artiste K.O.G., a versatile performer known for his work as a rapper, percussionist, and art director.
Often described as a pint-sized version of Glastonbury, the Shindig Festival drew enthusiastic crowds, with a BBC report highlighting Epixode’s energetic set featuring some of his hit songs.Currently in the UK, Epixode is scheduled to perform in Germany later in June.
The Ministry for the Interior has declared Friday, June 6, 2025, a public holiday in observance of Eid-Ul-Adha. In a statement dated May 29 and signed by Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed, the public was informed that the day is a statutory holiday to be observed nationwide.
Eid-Ul-Adha, or the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It marks the end of the annual Hajj pilgrimage and is one of the two major Islamic holidays. In Ghana, the day is observed with prayers, animal sacrifices, acts of charity, and community celebrations.

The move underscores Hilton’s continued expansion into North Africa’s luxury market, targeting culturally rich destinations with high tourism potential.
