Rhythms for a Cause Concert Raises Funds for Education in Northern Ghana

Ghana Declares March 31 and April 1 as Public Holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr

Dubai to Host Arabian Travel Market 2025, Showcasing the Future of Hospitality

The Ministry of the Interior has officially declared Monday, March 31, and Tuesday, April 1, 2025, as public holidays  ib Ghana in recognition of the Muslim festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.

President John Dramani Mahama had earlier announced the additional holiday to honour the significance of Eid-ul-Fitr, which falls on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Since the statutory holiday coincides with a weekend, the president, through an Executive Instrument (E.I.) issued under Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act (Act 601), has designated the following Monday and Tuesday as holidays.

A statement signed by the Minister for the Interior, Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, on Saturday, March 22, emphasised that the decision aligns with existing protocols and ensures the general public, especially the Muslim community, can fully observe the festival.

The move also fulfils a campaign promise by President Mahama and highlights the government’s recognition of the vital role of the Muslim community in Ghana’s national development.

The energy from the Rhythms for a Cause concert continues to resonate beyond the night of spectacular performances at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill.

The event, which brought together music lovers for an evening of entertainment, achieved more than just musical excellence—it made a real difference in the lives of young girls in northern Ghana.

Through ticket sales and generous donations, the charity concert successfully raised funds for the Lamisi Fata Foundation, which is committed to improving education by providing reusable sanitary products to students.

This initiative ensures that young girls do not miss school due to menstrual health challenges, reinforcing the concert’s broader mission of empowering communities through music.

Organisers have since expressed their gratitude for the overwhelming support, with ZoeBaraka describing it as “a true testament to the power of music and community.” The event’s success has sparked discussions about making it an annual fixture, allowing more people to contribute to this meaningful cause in the future.

For those who missed the event but still wish to support the foundation’s efforts, contributions can be made through the Lamisi Fata Foundation. The spirit of Rhythms for a Cause lives on, proving that music, when paired with compassion, has the power to change lives.

The spirit of giving and music came alive at the +233 Jazz Bar & Grill during the Rhythms for a Cause concert, a charity event that left a lasting impact beyond an evening of entertainment. While the performances by Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Wanlov The Kubolor, Mzbel, Epixode, Aziza, Ewura Karim Adams, Vibes Brothers Band, and Gean Fusion thrilled the audience, the real victory was the funds raised in support of menstrual health initiatives in northern Ghana.

Organized in partnership with the Lamisi Fata Foundation, the event helped provide reusable sanitary products to schoolgirls, ensuring they can pursue their education with dignity. Organizers have since expressed their appreciation for the overwhelming support, with ZoeBaraka describing it as a “true testament to the power of music and community coming together for a greater good.”

Beyond the music and goodwill, the success of the event has sparked conversations about making it an annual initiative. Many attendees and donors have expressed interest in seeing Rhythms for a Cause return, reinforcing the belief that music can be a force for social change.

The impact of this event is still unfolding, and those who wish to contribute to the cause can continue to support the Lamisi Fata Foundation’s efforts to enhance education and menstrual health.
