Delta Air Lines is expanding its presence in Ghana with the launch of a seasonal daily nonstop service between Accra and Atlanta, beginning December 1, 2025. This move underscores the airline’s commitment to the Ghanaian market, offering travelers more convenience and flexibility during the peak holiday season.

The introduction of this route is driven by strong demand, particularly from Ghanaians who travel to the U.S. during the December-January period to reunite with family and friends. Delta has been a trusted airline in Ghana since 2006, carrying over 7.5 million passengers across its African routes. The new Atlanta-Accra service complements its existing year-round daily flights between Accra and New York-JFK.

Matteo Curcio, Delta’s Senior Vice President for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India, emphasized the airline’s commitment to connectivity and convenience. “We know how important it is for families and friends to stay connected, and this additional flight ensures that more Ghanaians can easily reach their loved ones while enjoying world-class service.”

The route will be operated using Delta’s Airbus A330-900neo, featuring Delta One Suites, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+, and Main Cabin seating. Ghanaian travelers have positively received the aircraft on the New York-Accra route, leading to its selection for the new Atlanta service.

Delta’s Atlanta hub, the world’s largest airport, provides seamless connections to over 215 destinations worldwide. Passengers from Ghana can now access major U.S. cities, including Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Houston, making travel for both business and leisure more accessible.

This latest expansion also aligns with Delta’s broader African strategy, which includes its first-ever nonstop service from Atlanta to Marrakech, Morocco, beginning October 25, 2025.

As Delta Air Lines expands its footprint in Ghana with a new Accra-Atlanta route, the airline is also making significant investments to enhance the travel experience for passengers flying between Ghana and the U.S.At its Atlanta hub, Delta is introducing new customer-focused improvements designed to ensure smooth and efficient travel. These include the opening of a 24,000-square-foot Delta Sky Club on Concourse D, providing panoramic views and premium amenities. The airline is also upgrading Sky Clubs on Concourses A and C, expanding Concourse D to improve passenger flow, and increasing gate capacity.

To further streamline travel, Delta is rolling out its Delta Digital ID, enabling eligible travelers to move through security and baggage drop without needing a physical ID or boarding pass. In addition, free Wi-Fi expansion is underway for international routes, including flights to West African destinations such as Lagos, Dakar, and Accra.

With these enhancements, Delta is reaffirming its position as the leading carrier between Ghana and the U.S. The airline’s commitment to modern aircraft, superior in-flight service, and a seamless airport experience ensures that Ghanaian travelers have access to top-tier comfort and connectivity.
