The Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC) has warned the public against purchasing or encroaching on its land near the Kwabenya nuclear facility. In a statement issued on March 18, 2025, GAEC revealed that unknown individuals had illegally broken barricades and begun grading land earmarked for critical nuclear science projects, including an Electron Beam Irradiation Facility.

This facility is intended to support sustainable agriculture, food security, and the sterilization of medical and consumer products.

GAEC expressed concern over encroachments near the National Nuclear Waste Management Centre, warning of serious safety and security risks. The Commission also highlighted Ghana’s responsibility as Chair of the IAEA Board of Governors, stressing that failure to address the issue could harm the country’s international reputation. GAEC urged the public to avoid unauthorized land purchases and called on authorities to intervene to prevent further encroachment.

Mobus Properties Limited has handed over a newly constructed office block to the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) Pay Regiment at Burma Camp, Accra. The facility is expected to enhance financial management efficiency and administrative operations within the regiment.

At the handover ceremony, retired Lieutenant Colonel Ababio Serebour, after whom the building is named, expressed gratitude and highlighted its role in improving working conditions. He urged the regiment to leverage the facility to strengthen cooperation with corporate partners.

Mobus Properties CEO Kojo Ansah Mensah emphasized the company’s commitment to national development, describing the project as a symbol of partnership rather than just Corporate Social Responsibility.
The new office block is set to improve workflow, efficiency, and service delivery, aligning with ongoing efforts to modernize military support services.

A recent study by the University of South Australia reveals that international students have little impact on Australia’s rental crisis.Analyzing data from 2017 to 2024, researchers found no significant correlation between the number of international students and rising rental costs.
The study suggests that structural issues in the housing market, rather than the influx of international students, are the primary cause of reduced rental supply and increased rents.
