The airline has secured an Air Carrier License from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and awaits an Air Operator’s Certificate, which will grant full operational control. This milestone will enable Goldstar Air to manage its aircraft, finalize codeshare agreements, and expand routes to the United States and other countries.
Goldstar Air plans to introduce advanced technologies to enhance passenger convenience, operational efficiency, and service quality. The airline also intends to align its pay structure with global standards, implementing a biweekly salary system, the first of its kind in Ghana’s aviation sector. Vitol has facilitated the sale of aviation fuel from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery to a Bulk Import, Distribution, and Export Company (BIDEC) in Ghana, marking a milestone in regional energy trade. This transaction highlights the $20 billion Dangote Refinery’s growing role as a key supplier of refined petroleum products across West Africa.
The consignment supports Ghana’s expanding aviation sector and underscores the refinery’s capacity to meet Africa’s energy needs, reducing reliance on imported petroleum products. While sources suggest this may be the first official delivery to a Ghanaian BIDEC, it remains uncertain if previous Dangote products have entered the Ghanaian market due to limited data.
The Dangote Refinery, with a daily processing capacity of 650,000 barrels of crude oil, is positioned as a transformative force in Africa’s energy supply chain and a driver of regional partnerships.
