The Golden Bean Hotel has been awarded the title of Best 3-Star Hotel in Ghana at the 2024 National Tourism Awards, organised by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA).
 
The prestigious ceremony, held at the serene Osu Castle Garden under the theme Celebrating Innovation and Recognising Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector,gathered esteemed dignitaries, including former Minister of Tourism and Senior Presidential Advisor, Florence Oboshie Sai Cofie, as Chairperson, and Togbe Dr. Crystal-Dzirackor, Group Chairman of Crystal TV Group, as the Guest of Honour.
 
Notable attendees included the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, his Deputy, Mark Okraku-Mantey, and a range of government officials and diplomatic representatives. The GTA also brought in its senior executives, including CEO Akwasi Agyeman and deputies Ekow Sampson and Ben Anane Nsiah, to celebrate Ghana’s tourism accomplishments.
 
The GTA’s citation praised the Golden Bean Hotel for its remarkable service, noting the establishment’s seamless fusion of African elegance and modern sophistication. The citation read, “Your seamless blend of modern sophistication with African elegance makes you a premier choice for both local and international travellers.

 
Randy Attuquaye Clottey, General Manager of the Golden Bean Hotel, expressed his excitement upon receiving the national award, following the hotel’s recognition as the best 3-Star hotel in the Ashanti Region earlier this year.
 
To be crowned the best in the whole of Ghana is a special moment for us,” he remarked, highlighting the significance of the accolade.
 
Clottey announced that the hotel has plans to expand its facilities and enhance service delivery to maintain its competitive edge and high service standards.
 
He attributed the award to the dedication of the hotel’s staff, the loyalty of its clients, and the steadfast support of its board and partners. He added that this national recognition fuels the team’s commitment to excellence in the hospitality industry.
 
Top executives of the Golden Bean Hotel, including Sales and Marketing Manager Maame Ama Asantewaa Adjem and Financial Controller Francisca Aba Acquah, were also present at the event. In a media interview, Adjem affirmed the hotel’s commitment to service quality and revealed plans to introduce new service packages to keep ahead of competitors.

Goldstar Air plans to create disability-friendly travel packages, including wheelchair-accessible vehicles and accommodations suited for individuals with mobility challenges.
 
This initiative, combined with collaborations with local governments and organisations to improve infrastructure—such as accessible paths, ramps, and restrooms at tourist sites—will help establish Ghana as a leading destination for disability tourism.
 
Ghana’s unique geographical position, marked by the convergence of the equator and Greenwich Meridian at Tema Country Golf Club, adds to the country’s allure as a central global destination, reinforcing Goldstar Air’s vision of positioning Ghana as a pivotal aviation hub in Africa.

Tour guide Jack Rivers, who is Indigenous, leads educational walking tours on Manitoulin Island’s Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, offering insights into native history and nature.
