Real estate leader IndigoHomes Ghana Limited has unveiled its latest project, GreenwichPark, a 19-acre sustainable community near the Tema Motorway, offering 270 townhomes with eco-friendly design.
Located 30 minutes from Kotoka International Airport and close to the Borteyman Stadium, GreenwichPark will feature 2.5 acres of parks, gardens, and walkways, echoing the design success of previous IndigoHomes projects.
The announcement came as IndigoHomes completed its OyarifaPark community, a 200-home development with green spaces, a clubhouse, and sports amenities. CEO Cheryl Mills emphasized IndigoHomes’ commitment to sustainable and vibrant communities, inviting homeowners to join Ghana’s premier residential development.
Ghana has unveiled a comprehensive roadmap to decarbonize the building and construction sector, aiming to reduce carbon emissions across the entire construction value chain.
Launched on October 24 at the AH Hotel in Accra, the initiative was highlighted by Deputy Minister of Housing Dr. Prince Hamid Armah as a transformative step toward environmental sustainability.
Developed in collaboration with UN-Habitat and UNOPs, the roadmap aligns with broader efforts under the “Transforming the Built Environment through Sustainable Materials” program, launched in November 2023.
Dr. Armah underscored the building sector’s significant environmental impact, noting it contributes to over 37% of global carbon emissions, uses 40% of global energy, and accounts for 30% of raw material extraction. This roadmap represents Ghana’s commitment to a more sustainable and resilient built environment.
Dubai’s real estate market is set to reach new heights in 2024, with 90,000 new homes expected this year and sustained growth projected over the next two years.
Active developments include 1,034 construction projects, set to introduce a combined 288,020 units to the city’s skyline. The industry aims to surpass 2023’s record of 101,654 units, with the 2024 tally already reaching 99,779.
According to Firas Al Msaddi, CEO of fäm Properties, this influx of properties underscores Dubai’s strong commitment to expansion and aligns with the high demand for both residential and commercial spaces.
Kwabena Ampofo Appiah, Managing Director of the State Housing Company (SHC), has highlighted the achievements of the SHC under President Akufo-Addo’s leadership, noting the construction of over 3,000 homes during this administration. In contrast, he reported only 12 homes were built under former
President John Mahama. Speaking on Patriotic Spaces on September 18, Ampofo Appiah praised the current government’s commitment to reducing Ghana’s housing deficit and attributed the SHC’s increased activity to the support provided by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government. He criticized the previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration for what he described as an inadequate housing effort, contrasting it with the recent surge in housing projects.
He commended President Akufo-Addo and Housing Ministry leaders for their efforts, which, he noted, not only address housing needs but also create construction jobs and stimulate the local economy.
