The Service Excellence Foundation, under the auspices of the Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Ghana Tourism Authority, recently organized the 4th NAKOFEST edition of the Industry Hospitality Leadership Breakfast Summit.
 
The event took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel and attracted prominent leaders from both the public and private sectors.
 
This year’s summit theme, “The Role of Mental Health and Wellbeing; a Catalyst to an Enhanced Work Environment for Business Growth in the Hospitality Industry,” coincided with World Mental Health Day and the National Customer Service Week.
 
These global and national events are observed every October by the Tourism and Hospitality Industry of Ghana.
 
The summit provided a platform for open dialogue and collaboration, addressing how mental health plays a critical role in enhancing workplace environments, driving business growth, and improving overall employee well-being in the hospitality sector.
 
 
The 4th NAKOFEST Industry Hospitality Leadership Breakfast Summit brought together leaders from various sectors to discuss the importance of mental health in the workplace.
 
The event, held at the Labadi Beach Hotel, included key figures from public and private sector institutions, such as the Ghana Mental Health Authority, Ghana Health Service, and several tourism and hospitality trade associations.
 
 
 
 
The award-winning Harmonious Chorale-Ghana celebrated its 17th anniversary with a grand concert titled “Symphony and Steps” on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Wesley Towers in Accra. This remarkable event marked a milestone in the choir’s journey, showcasing their exceptional talent and God’s goodness towards them.
 
The anniversary concert also served as a Thanksgiving celebration following their successful debut in the United States in September 2024. During their American tour, the choir performed in Texas under the auspices of the Ghanaian Community Presbyterian Church and delivered another outstanding performance in New York.
 
Harmonious Chorale, crowned Champions of the World Choir Games in Category C28 in 2018 in South Africa, where they also secured four Gold awards, is renowned for its multi-talented group of singers and musicians. Their music continues to inspire audiences both locally and internationally.
 
Dr. George Agyekum Donkor, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the choir and President of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development, expressed confidence in the choir’s ability to exceed expectations during this special celebration.
 
Ghanaian Highlife artist Nero X is set to perform at the 2024 Kente Wear Festival in three U.S. cities. The festival, aimed at promoting Ghanaian fashion in the diaspora, will feature his first performance in Salt Lake City, Utah, on October 26, 202He will then perform in Lake City, Georgia, and conclude at the African Palace in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
 
Nero X, known for his hit “Nipa Nua,” expressed excitement about promoting Ghanaian music and fashion at the event, encouraging fans to attend. The festival, organized by Starline Promotions, will also feature a fashion exhibition and runway walk.

 
Pubs in  the UK may need to charge up to £25 for fish and chips due to potential tax hikes, including increases in employers’ National Insurance contributions and business rates.
 
Hospitality leaders have urged Chancellor Rachel Reeves to avoid measures that could harm the industry in her upcoming October budget.
