Ghana’s real estate sector has promising potential – Ms Hanna Atiase

The Ghana Business Investment Forum, held in the US, provided a platform for Ms. Hanna Atiase, the CEO of E. Wells Realty and Consultancy in Accra, to share insights on the real estate sector’s potential in Ghana.

During her address, she stressed the significance of fostering cooperation between the public and private sectors in this industry.

Ms. Atiase underlined the importance of networking, not only for business growth but also for building connections within the Ghanaian business community.

In addressing challenges within the real estate sector, Ms. Atiase brought attention to the complexities of the land acquisition process, which often leads to delays.

She stressed the need for streamlining this process to expedite property title acquisition and due diligence, ultimately enhancing the sector’s efficiency and appeal to potential investors.

High-interest rates on loans, known as “CD loans,” were another concern that Ms. Atiase addressed. She pointed out that these rates are currently quite high, approximately 37%.

She emphasized the necessity of finding ways to reduce these rates, making it more feasible for people to invest in real estate and take steps up the property ladder.

Ms Atiase spoke about the promising potential of Ghana’s real estate sector and the critical role of public-private collaboration.

She stressed networking, education, and community involvement and offered valuable insights into the challenges that the industry faces.
