Dr. Pius Basoah Asumadu, the Regional Lands Officer of the Western Regional Lands Commission, says an Indenture-Deed should not be considered a complete legal document in land matters.

He pointed out that many individuals who acquire an indenture, also known as a Deed, often neglect the crucial step of registering or documenting their land rights with the Commission.

Dr. Asumadu, during an interview with the Ghana News Agency, highlighted that people frequently mistakenly view the indenture provided by landowners or the cadastral plans created by surveyors as fully registered documents that grant them ownership rights.

He stressed that this practice often exposes individuals to significant risks. He advised landowners to personally visit the Commission’s Client Service Access Unit (CSAU) for inquiries and legitimate transactions.

Dr. Asumadu shared instances of clients falling victim to fraudulent agents and unqualified individuals who claim to provide expedited services.
Mr. Ernest Adade, Head of Communication at GRA, clarified that the GRA has not taken over property rate collection but has provided a platform to identify eligible rate payers and bill them for direct payment into MMDAs’ accounts.

China’s real estate market remains a drag and will put pressure on global growth.

New home prices fell in September, a third straight month of decline, according to data released Thursday by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), despite Beijing’s efforts to shore up the sector.
The data comes at a time when Country Garden, once the country’s biggest home builder, is fighting for its life.

The property slowdown will impact not just China, but also global growth, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Wednesday.

New home prices in 70 major cities fell by 0.1% in September from a year ago, according to a calculation from Refinitiv Eikon based on data from the NBS. On a month-on-month basis, prices dropped 0.2% in September, extending a 0.3% fall in August.
